62-Year-Old Man Critically Injured in Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 17 near Peoria Avenue
PHOENIX, AZ (August 24, 2019)– A 62-year-old man suffered injuries in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 17, Saturday afternoon.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the incident happened at about 2:30 PM. A 1976 Harley Davidson motorcycle did not stop at the red light for northbound traffic at Peoria Avenue. There, it collided with a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze.
Emergency responders transported the victim, who was not wearing a helmet, to a hospital with critical injuries. Meanwhile, the 53-year-old Chevrolet driver underwent an evaluation and showed no signs of impairment.
Investigators suspect that the motorcyclist’s brakes malfunctioned before the collision. Authorities will release additional information following the conclusion of the investigation.
