Big Rig Involved in Fatal Head-On Crash at Avenue 21 and Road 26
MADERA COUNTY, CA (September 28, 2019) – A 39-year-old man died in a head-on crash on Avenue 21, early Saturday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 4:45 AM. Due to unknown reasons, an eastbound 1995 Chevy pick-up truck crossed over into the westbound lane. There, it collided head-on with a big rig.
Emergency responders pronounced the Chevy driver dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the big rig driver remained and cooperated with investigators.
The CHP ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the fatal crash. Investigators will release additional information once it becomes available.
