Fatal Olympia Pedestrian Crash on Cooper Point Road near Capital Mall Drive
OLYMPIA, WA (January 14, 2021) – Early Tuesday, a man in his 30s sustained injuries in a pedestrian accident on Cooper Point Road near Capital Mall Drive.
The incident happened at around 12:20 a.m. on Cooper Point Road Southwest. According to Lt. Paul Lower, as the man crossed the road in the 1000 block near Capital Mall Drive, a northbound vehicle hit him.
As a result, the man suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable but serious condition.
Meanwhile, the driver, a woman in her 20s, remained at the scene. She also helped in providing first aid and didn’t show signs of intoxication or impairment.
The crash led to the closure of Cooper Point Road for several hours.
Also, the incident is under active investigation.
