1 Dead and 1 Hurt in Sonoma County Car Accident
SONOMA COUNTY, CA (January 17, 2019)– An 18-year-old woman died in a collision on Occidental Road on January 14.
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office has identified the deceased as 18-year-old Mallory Parker of Santa Rosa.
The CHP revealed that Parker was traveling in a 1995 Saturn at an unsafe speed west on Occidental Road west of Peachland Avenue about 2:15 p.m.
The CHP officials added that Parker was unable to control her vehicle on a sweeping right curve, slid off the north shoulder and crashed into a parked Ford F-250 tree-trimming company’s truck.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a male employee of the company was standing nearby when he was hit by the truck after the Saturn crashed into it. The truck then hit a Chevrolet Silverado’s rear.
The employee sustained major injuries and was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, CHP officials revealed.
