Car Crashes into Point Mugu Rock in Malibu, Fatality Reported
MALIBU, CA (March 18, 2019) – At least one person was killed following a high-speed crash Monday morning in Malibu.
The fatal crash happened around 5:40 a.m. on Highway 1 at Point Mugu Rock.
According to an initial report by the California Highway Patrol, a sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed on Pacific Coast Highway when it crashed into Mugu Rock.
A coroner’s personnel was dispatched to the scene and confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the accident.
The name, age and town of residence of the victim were not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area until the scene has been cleared.
Further investigation of this incident is underway.
