Officers Arrested Amy Glover in SR 155 Collision
Grand Coulee, WA (March 29, 2022) – On Sunday, officers arrested 39-year-old Amy Glover of Wilbur in a DUI crash on State Route 155 injuring 26-year-old Malia Vogel of Almira.
Officers said Glover was driving a southbound 2018 Ford Explorer when she crossed the center line and struck Vogel head-on.
During that time, Vogel was driving a northbound 2004 Chevrolet Impala on the freeway.
Immediately, the paramedics took Glover and Vogel to Coulee Community Hospital with injuries. Reports said they were both wearing seatbelts when the incident happened.
“The Explorer crossed the center line and struck the Impala head-on in the northbound lane. Post impact, both vehicles blocked the northbound lane. The northbound lane was blocked for approximately 3 hours.” says an officer.
Bryant added that the collision was caused by the two drivers’ impairment. However, due to the severity of Vogel’s injuries, Glover will be charged with vehicular assault.
Meanwhile, officers also said that Vogel will still be charged with DUI, that’s still a crime in this state.
While it is true, that driving is essential for many in order to move about in their lives, it is one of the most dangerous activities performed daily.
That is why paying attention to the road while behind the wheel plays a big part in making sure we arrive safely at our destination.
DUI Crash Can Result in Injuries
It is indeed crucial that everyone drives defensively in order to avoid traffic accidents as much as possible.
Meanwhile, here are some of the things that we can do to practice defensive driving:
- First, always drive at a controllable speed.
- Then, it is also important not to assume you know the other driver’s intention.
- Also, be prepared to positively react to other drivers.
- This one, we should never neglect. Yield at intersections, even if you have right of way.
- Most importantly, stay focused on the road. Remove all distractions such as mobile phone use, unstrapped toddlers, etc.
