1 Injured in Paso Robles Pedestrian Accident
PASO ROBLES, CA (December 7, 2018) – A male pedestrian sustained serious injuries after being struck by a car while crossing a road on December 5.
Cmdr. Caleb Davis revealed that it was around 7:00 p.m. when the Paso Robles police received a call about a pedestrian in the street on North River Road just north of Union Road.
On the officers’ way to the crash scene, they again received a report of a man being hit by a vehicle, Davis added.
The man suffered major injuries following the incident and was taken to Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton for treatment.
Meanwhile, the vehicle driver involved in the collision remained at the scene and has been cooperative with the police upon their arrival.
Davis revealed that drugs or alcohol were ruled out as a factor in the collision. He also cleared out that speeding is not likely a factor in the incident.
Whether you are a driver or a pedestrian, it is important to abide by all traffic laws and observe safety precautions. If you’re behind the wheel, do your part to avoid distractions and look out for pedestrians at all times. If you’re crossing the street, do so at designated crosswalks or intersections. When walking alongside a road, remain on the sidewalk wherever possible. If there is no sidewalk, walk on the shoulder and face oncoming traffic. By obeying traffic laws and being cautious of the conditions of the road, you can help prevent an unforeseen accident and keep yourself and others safe.
