Male Pedestrian Killed in Pacific Avenue Accident [Long Beach, CA]

Long Beach, CA (September 9, 2023) – At about 10:40 p.m. on Thursday, a male pedestrian was killed in a Pacific Avenue accident.

The Long Beach Police Department officers responded to the accident scene in the area of 23rd Street and declared the pedestrian deceased.

The authorities said the man was hit by a southbound 2016 Dodge Charger north of 23rd Street. 

Apparently, the man was crossing the street westbound outside of a crosswalk and the Long Beach man driving the Dodge was unable to avoid hitting him.

The Dodge driver remained at the scene and the authorities do not believe that he was impaired or distracted when the accident happened.
