35-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident near Ultimo Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (March 19, 2020) – Monday night, a 35-year-old male pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on 7th Street.
CHP received reports on East 7th Street near Ultimo Avenue, around 10:00 p.m.
Reports later revealed that the man was walking across the street when an unidentified westbound vehicle struck him.
Moreover, the impact consequently sent his body in the eastbound lanes where he was struck by a 61-year-old Long Beach female. She was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The initial driver that struck him fled the scene following the impact. Meanwhile, the second driver along with other concerned citizens stopped and aided the pedestrian.
Due to the extent of his injuries, the victim was declared dead at the scene.
In addition, the surrounding area on 7th Street was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
