Police Investigate Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Crash on South Street in Long Beach

Long Beach, CA (September 1, 2022) – Early Thursday morning, a male pedestrian died in a crash on South Street.

The fatal crash in Long Beach happened at around 12:40 a.m. in the 3300 block of South Street.

Police said the pedestrian was walking northbound across South Street, outside a marked crosswalk, when he was struck by a Honda.

The pedestrian died at the crash scene. 

The driver, a resident from Lakewood, remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers. 

Investigators said neither speed nor distracted, or impaired driving are believed to be contributing factors in the collision.

Further investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
