30-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after Hit-And-Run Pedestrian Accident in Hillcrest
HILLCREST, CA (December 30, 2018) – Early Sunday morning, a 30-year-old male pedestrian was struck and injured by a hit-and-run car on University Avenue.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred around 2:30 AM at Richmond Street. The identity of the victim has not yet been released to the public.
As per reports, the victim was crossing at the crosswalk when an unknown sedan traveling eastbound on 1300 University Avenue stuck him and fled the scene.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. He suffered major injuries including a skull fracture and bleeding of the brain.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time for cleanup and preliminary investigation, but has since reopened. No more details regarding the accident have been released to the public.
