Male Pedestrian Dies in Interstate 8 Accident [San Diego, CA]

I-8 Fatal Pedestrian Accident

San Diego, CA (September 8, 2022) – On Friday, a male pedestrian sustained fatal injuries in an Interstate 8 accident.

It was just past 8 p.m. when the fatal accident happened on the eastbound freeway near San Diego’s Mission Valley area.

According to the authorities who are handling this case, the man was walking within the lanes when a silver Nissan sport utility car driven by a 25-year-old San Diego woman struck him.

Sadly, the pedestrian incurred fatal injuries and died at the scene. 

The female driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers’ investigation.

Meanwhile, the CHP says a toxicology report is pending to determine if drugs and/or alcohol played a role in the I-8 fatal pedestrian accident.
