Male Passenger Dies in Piraeus Street Accident [Encinitas, CA]

Encinitas, CA (May 9, 2022) – On Sunday, at about 4 p.m., a male passenger lost his life in a Piraeus Street accident.

The authorities immediately responded to the accident scene near Normandy Road.

According to the investigators, a car stopped in the southbound bicycle lane and the man exited the car and crossed the street. He retrieved a flower but a northbound car struck him as he crossed back.

The paramedics rushed the victim to Scripps La Jolla Hospital with major injuries. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

On the other hand, the car driver did not sustain injuries. 

Deputies say alcohol and/or drugs are not a factor in this pedestrian accident.
