Unidentified Male Killed, Female Injured in Auto Accident near Marina Boulevard in San Leandro
SAN LEANDRO, CA (May 6, 2020) – Early Wednesday morning, a traffic collision on the 880 Freeway killed one male victim and injured one woman.
The California Highway Patrol first received reports of the crash at 1:09 a.m. Responders then located the damaged vehicles on the northbound lanes of the 880 Freeway, just north of Marina Boulevard.
Emergency Crews closed off the surrounding area on the 880 Freeway for a brief time during cleanup and the preliminary investigation. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
Aftermath and Updates
At this time, there have been no updates regarding the current condition of the injured victim of the traffic collision on the 880 Freeway. What is known is that she is a woman, and emergency responders rushed her to the hospital immediately after the incident.
Police also confirmed that one fatality occurred in the accident. They later identified the deceased victim as a man.
According to CHP Sgt. Ted Montez, it is too early in the investigation to confirm the factors that lead to the collision. It is possible that either of the two victims were ejected from their vehicle.
