34-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Auto Accident near Day Street in Riverside
RIVERSIDE, CA (April 8, 2020) – Monday morning, a 34-year-old man was killed while another was injured in a two-car collision on Campus Parkway.
California Highway Patrol received reports around 9:45 a.m., on Campus Parkway. First responders arrived to the area near Day Street shortly after.
According to police reports, a male driver of a westbound 2009 Dodge Avenger on Campus Parkway failed to yield at a red light.
As a result, the Dodge collided with a 51-year-old Moreno Valley resident driving a 2018 Ford Focus.
The Dodge Avenger driver eventually veered off the road before striking a nearby brick wall. Due to the impact of the collision, the Dodge driver was left with life-threatening injures.
Paramedics later took the Dodge driver to Riverside University Medical Center for further treatment. There, he eventually succumbed to his injuries as a result of the collision.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford sustained only minor injuries.
At this time, authorities are still conducting an active investigation regarding the fatal car collision.
