Anthony Hernandez Vega Arrested after Fatal DUI Collision near South Natomas Library

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (June 16, 2018) – A bicyclist was pronounced dead a few days after a DUI crash on Truxel Road near Pebblestone Way, that took place on Saturday afternoon.
 
According to the Sacramento Police Department, the collision took place at around noon along Truxel Road, near the South Natomas Library.
 
The injured man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. On June 19th, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by medical professionals. His identity was not released to the public, pending notification of family.
 
Investigators believe that the driver who struck the bicyclist was high on marijuana at the time of the collision. The suspect, 22-year-old Anthony Hernandez Vega, was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of driving under the influence.
 
No further details were released to the public on the events leading up to the fatal incident.
