Injuries in Bicycle Crash in Oxnard
Oxnard, CA (October 24, 2021) – On Friday, a male bicyclist suffered critical injuries in an East 5th Street crash.
The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. east of Rose Avenue.
Officers said a 19-year-old Camarillo man was driving a westbound 2017 BMW 330i on Rose Avenue.
At the same time, an eastbound unidentified tractor-trailer on Fifth Street swerved into the westbound lanes.
The BMW swerved into the bike lane of the road while attempting to avoid the tractor-trailer. That is when it hit the eastbound bicyclist.
Rescuers rushed the bicyclist to Ventura County Medical Center with critical injuries.
On the other hand, the 19-year-old BMW driver did not sustain injuries from the incident. He stayed at the scene and helped the bicyclist.
Meanwhile, the authorities said they were not able to find the involved tractor-trailer.
They do not consider alcohol as a factor in this accident.

Know What To Do in Case of East 5th Street Crash
Roadways, while scrupulously created and mapped for efficient travel, are one of the most dangerous settings. Therefore, it is crucial that everyone remain calm in order to properly handle the immediate aftermath of an automobile collision.
In fact, on the AAA Foundation Web site, chief executive officer Peter Kissinger repeatedly labeled the epidemic of motor vehicle-related accidents a “public health crisis.”
Moreover, here are the things that we need to remember in case of an accident:
– Before anything else, seek medical attention if you or someone suffered injuries in the accident.
– Get to a safe place to prevent further damage or injury.
– Collect as much information as possible: insurance and contact information of people involved in the accident and pictures/videos of vehicles involved. Also, do not forget documentation of fault, and whatever else that can be used for evidence.
– File a police report or incident report by calling 911.
