Makeal Surrell Dead and Two Airlifted in Brentwood Accident on Highway 4
BRENTWOOD, CA (September 9, 2020) – On Monday afternoon, Makeal Surrell died, while two others suffered injuries in a head-on crash on Highway 4.
The incident occurred at about 4:56 p.m. on Highway 4 between Balfour Road and Marsh Creek Road in Brentwood.
According to authorities, Surrell’s grey 2008 Nissan Ultima went past the solid double yellow lines and crashed with a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe.
As a result, Surrell, the 21-year-old Nissan driver from Antioch, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
On the other hand, two adult occupants, a male driver and a female passenger in the Hyundai suffered critical injuries.
Due to the injuries reported, Con Air 1 and 2 responded to airlift the two patients to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek.
Meanwhile, the authorities temporarily shut down the road during the investigation at the scene.
The authorities haven’t disclosed additional details about the crash. Furthermore, the police urge anyone with information to call the CHP at (925) 646-4980.
