Semi-Truck Overturns in Collision near Derrick Avenue

 
CANTUA CREEK, CA (May 19, 2019) – Major injuries were sustained in a semi-truck crash on southbound 5 Freeway Sunday afternoon.
 
According to CHP, the collision took place at approximately 2:24 PM north of Derrick Avenue. Based on an initial report, the semi-truck collided with a white Toyota Prius and a black Toyota Camry. After that, an unknown vehicle overturned in the lanes.
 
The truck driver was pinned inside the vehicle. In addition, the paramedics were requested for needed medical attention. They confirmed that the victim suffered major injuries due to impact. However, their current medical status is unknown.
 
The accident caused the freeway to close while a clearing and cleaning operations took place.
 
The incident remains under investigation, and it is unknown if alcohol or drugs have played a role in the crash.
