San Jacinto Three-Vehicle Crash on Highway 79
SAN JACINTO, CA (October 10, 2019) — At least one person suffered injuries in a Highway 79 crash near Gilman Springs Road Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency responders, Cal Fire, and law enforcement officers responded to the accident at about 3:45 p.m. Involved in the crash were three vehicles including a white Acura MDX SUV and a light blue pickup truck. Information on the third vehicle was not immediately released.
The Acura was heavily damaged and rested in the middle of the roadway. On the other hand, the light blue truck rolled over into a field. Reports also indicated that one of the vehicles caught fire.
According to the witnesses, one of the vehicles involved was traveling at a high rate speeding before the head-on collision happened.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the accident resulted in major injuries. The total number of injured parties was not immediately available. Further investigation is underway.
