ENCINITAS, CA (October 16, 2019) – Major injuries sustained in a DUI crash on 5 Freeway southbound on early Wednesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 1:54 AM near the Encinitas Boulevard off-ramp.
 
Based on a report, two vehicles became involved in the incident. One of the drivers had reportedly been drinking prior to the accident. The suspect drove at a high speed before colliding with the other motorist.
 
The paramedics arrived for needed medical attention. They reported that major injuries sustained in the incident.
 
The CHP is investigating the crash. However, police have not released additional information at this time.
