Injuries Sustained in Trinity County Auto Accident on Highway 299 and Burnt Ranch

TRINITY COUNTY, CA (July 22, 2024) – Sunday, a fiery crash on Highway 299 and Burnt Ranch led to major injuries.

A crash occurred at approximately 10:21 a.m. near mile marker 14.6 on Highway 299, east of Burnt Ranch.

Scanner reports indicate that multiple individuals are involved, with some sustaining major injuries. A REACH medevac helicopter has been requested to respond to the scene.

According to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page, the roadway is blocked, and individuals are trapped in the vehicle, with concerns about a potential fire. A local firefighter arrived on the scene by 10:30 a.m. to assist. However, the remote location poses challenges for emergency responders to reach the site promptly.

Buddy’s Tow has been called to help clear the vehicle, and the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office has been dispatched to provide support.

At 11:17 a.m., one-way traffic control has been implemented. While there are difficulties accessing scanner traffic, it appears that there are challenges in getting medevacs to respond.
