Speed Contest Leads to Multi-Vehicle Collision near San Mateo Bridge
FOSTER CITY, CA (December 9, 2018) – Major damage was sustained in a crash on eastbound Highway 92, early Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 12:04 AM, near the San Mateo Bridge. Based on their report, six vehicles were involved in the incident. A white Toyota Camry engaged in a speeding contest was said to the cause of the pile-up. One of the vehicles overturned in the incident.
The paramedics were requested for needed medical attention. They did not release any report regarding the condition of the involved motorists.
A silver BMW acquired major front-end and rear-end damage due to impact. The authorities closed No. 2 and 3 lanes while a clearing and recovery operations were performed in the area. Additional information will be released once it becomes available, as the cause of the accident still remains under investigation at this time.
