67-Year-Old Magdaleno Ruiz Injured in Imperial Avenue Collision [Calexico, CA]

Calexico, CA (April 20, 2024) On Thursday, 67-year-old Magdaleno Ruiz was hurt in a horrific hit-and-run crash on Imperial Avenue.

According to the Calexico Police Department, the horrific auto-pedestrian crash happened on Imperial Avenue in Calexico.

Reports say that a southbound red Mazda sedan struck Ruiz, and then fled the scene without stopping to render aid to the fallen victim.

Officials say that the Mazda was last seen southbound into Mexico.

Police say that they were able to identify the suspect driver and vehicle, and at about 2 a.m. police arrested David Reyes Della of Mexicali as he tried to re-enter the United States.

Authorities say that Reyes Della admitted to the hit-and-run incident, and officials booked him into Imperial County Jail for Felony Hit-and-Run Driving.
