Woman, Infant, and Toddler Hospitalized after Accident near Lago Vista Way

 
MAGALIA, CA (March 26, 2018) – Three people, including an infant and a toddler, were injured in a single-vehicle car crash on Pentz Road, early Monday morning.
 
The female driver of a 2006 Ford Focus went off the roadway while traveling south on Pentz Road, just south of Lago Vista Way. Around 12:30 AM, when she allegedly made an unsafe turn and veered across the northbound lane, causing the car to crash into a dirt embankment. The car rolled over and stopped on its roof at the top of the embankment.
 
The California Highway Patrol reported that the toddler in the car sustained major injuries and was rushed to U.C. Davis children’s hospital for treatment. The infant was transported to Enloe Hospital and evaluated for possible injuries. The woman driving the car suffered serious injuries and was also transported to Enloe Hospital.
 
Investigators believe that the driver was either distracted or under the influence of drugs or alcohol when the accident happened. They confirmed that the driver was wearing a seat belt and the children were properly restrained in their car seats at the time of the crash.
