Late Evening Head-on Collision on Highway 145 in Madera Injures One
MADERA, CA (January 31, 2019) – One person was injured following a head-on collision late Thursday evening in Madera.
The collision happened around 10:31 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 145 and Highway 41.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Toyota pickup truck and a gray sedan collided head-on. One of the vehicles was smoking due to the impact and one occupant was pinned inside. Another party was found on the ground, unknown if ejected from the crash.
Emergency crews took one patient to a medical facility to receive proper treatment of a broken wrist.
The southbound lanes of Highway 41 were shut by firefighters while they worked on the scene.
There were no official reports stating what caused the crash or how it exactly transpired. An ongoing investigation continues to determine the factors involved and liability.
