Early Morning Rollover Crash on 710 Freeway in Lynwood Kills 1 and Injures Another
LYNWOOD, CA (January 27, 2019) – A man was killed following a rollover crash early Sunday morning in Lynwood.
The crash happened around 1:24 a.m. on northbound 710 Freeway, just South of 105 Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a black 2005 GMC Yukon was traveling northbound on the second lane of 710 Freeway when it veered to the right and struck a metal guardrail. It then overturned into a brush area along the right shoulder where it landed on its passenger side.
The driver of the SUV, only identified as a 25-year-old Los Angeles man, was ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. His 24-year-old female passenger was injured and taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood.
Alcohol was suspected to be a factor in the crash, CHP officials said. The incident remains under investigation.
