Man Hit and Killed by Two Cars on State Route 99 Between 18600 and 18800 Blocks
LYNNWOOD, WA (January 11, 2018) – Late Thursday night around 11 PM, a man was struck and killed by two cars while trying to cross Highway 99.
The unidentified victim was crossing the highway in an area without a crosswalk, when he was hit by a Nissan Altima, according to Lynnwood Police Cmdr. Sean Doty. A GMC Sierra traveling behind the Altima also struck the pedestrian. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. No other injuries or damages were reported.
The male Nissan driver in his twenties was arrested for vehicular manslaughter, because of suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
Highway 99 was closed off between the 188th Street southwest and 186th Street southwest for about three hours into the early hours of Friday morning, while officials investigated and cleared up the accident.
