46-Year-Old Fontana Man Fatally Struck at Cajon Pass
PHELAN, CA (August 1, 2019) – A man died after being struck by a vehicle early Thursday morning in the Cajon Pass.
The man was walking across the southbound traffic lanes of 15 Freeway, just North of Highway 138 about 12:15 a.m. when he was struck by a 2007 Toyota Yaris, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Arriving units pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified him as a 46-year-old Lupe Allejandro Flores of Fontana.
There was no information available on why Flores was walking on the freeway.
CHP Officers shut down the southbound 15 Freeway and traffic diverted. All lanes re-opened around 4:07 a.m.
