Alan Huerta Martinez Injured in Crash on State Route 26

Othello, WA (February 02, 2022) – On Friday, 30-year-old Luke Weaver of Renton sustained injuries in a semi-truck crash on State Route 26 involving 30-year-old Alan Huerta Martinez.

Officers said Martinez was driving an eastbound 2010 Peterbilt semi-truck on the freeway.

He slowed down attempting to make a left turn onto Lucy Road.

At the same time, a 2005 Chrysler 300 driven by Weaver attempted to pass the turning truck.

Unfortunately, Weaver’s vehicle struck the big rig driven by Martinez.

The emergency rescuers took Luke Weaver and his 31-year-old female passenger to a hospital with injuries.

Martinez did not suffer injuries from the crash.

Moreover, investigators said Weaver’s unsafe pass caused the crash and charges are pending.

When driving, better to scan the road 1/2 mile to a full mile ahead in order to look out or recognize potential hazards in time. Thus, you need to learn to consciously break that natural instinct and focus farther ahead.
