Luke Quinton Arrested in Menlo Park Accident
MENLO PARK, CA (May 26, 2019) – Several people sustained injuries Sunday morning in a fiery car collision on El Camino Real.
Authorities stated the accident occurred at 12:29 AM in the intersection of Oak Grove Avenue and El Camino Real.
Per reports, a small SUV driven by 25-year-old Luke Quinton collided with a 1965 Buick Riviera. Due to the impact, the SUV hit a stoplight and the Buick ended up 100ft away from the scene in front of the Mattress Firm store. According to the Menlo Park Fire Protection District, Quinton hit the Buicks fuel tank which caused the vehicle to catch on fire.
As a result of the collision, victims became trapped inside their cars. However, after several attempts of kicking the doors they slammed open. There was a total of four occupants in the car.
Two of the victims sustained second degree burns and were transported by medics to Stanford Hospital. In addition, the other two occupants went to a nearby hospital for further medical evaluation. However, there has been no update on their medical status.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the vehicle. Due to the collision, the intersection was closed for a period of time. Police arrested Quinn for suspicion of DUI. There has been no further additional information released to the public as investigations are ongoing.
