2 Women Injured, Luis Vitales Killed in Phoenix Crash

Phoenix, AZ (October 9, 2023) – 24-year-old Luis Vitales died in a crash on 35th Avenue and Roosevelt Street early Sunday morning.

The fatal crash happened around 2 a.m. on October 8.

Police found 24-year-old Luis Vitales injured on the ground; he died at the scene. Two women were in the red two-door car and were taken to the hospital with injuries, but are expected to survive.

Investigators say Vitales, driving the white SUV, ran a red light at 35th Avenue while travelling east on Roosevelt Street and collided with the red car traveling north on 35th Avenue. Police say Vitales was ejected from the vehicle upon impact. 

The investigation into the Phoenix crash continues as investigators evaluate evidence.
