Luis Salazar Arrested in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash near State Route 180 [Fresno, CA]

1 Person Dead in Fresno Auto Accident near State Route 180 and Dickenson Avenue

FRESNO, CA (August 18, 2024) – Saturday morning, authorities arrested Luis Salazar after a fatal two-vehicle crash near State Route 180.

According to the California Highway Patrol, an eastbound Camry veered into the westbound lanes and collided head-on with a westbound Camry.

Moreover, responders pronounced the 19-year-old male driver of the eastbound Camry, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the driver of the westbound Camry, identified as 27-year-old Salazar, and his 26-year-old female passenger to an area hospital for treatment.

Furthermore, officers arrested Salazar on suspicion of DUI.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
