Luis Perez Died in Hemet and Idyllwild Crash San Jacinto
San Jacinto, CA (May 19, 2020)– On Sunday afternoon, a 41-year-old Moreno Valley man, identified as Luis Perez, died while Edgar Mauricio sustained injuries in the Hemet and Idyllwild Crash.
According to reports, Perez was riding in a Polaris RZR driven by Mauricio, 41, of Hawthorne at about 3:55 p.m. Sunday, May 17. The crash occurred in the mountains between Hemet and Idyllwild.
They were traveling along the San Jacinto Ridge Truck Trail north of Highway 74 when the vehicle left the unpaved roadway and went down a steep embankment. However, what leads to this accident is still unspecified.
As a result, both men were ejected from their seats. Rescuers searched the area with the aid of a helicopter and found Mauricio walking up a dirt embankment. He then immediately airlifted to a hospital.
Meanwhile, his passenger Perez found dead about 250 feet down the incline.
Investigators believe alcohol or drugs are not factors in the crash. Preliminary investigations suggested that the crash happened along the Bee Canyon Truck Trail.
We at Sweet lawyers extend our sympathy and condolences to the family and loved ones of Luis Perez. May the people closest to him find peace and comfort in this trying time.
