Fatality Reported in Brownsville Hit-and-Run Crash
Brownsville, TX (September 28, 2024) – 92-year-old Luis Noriega was killed in a hit-and-run crash on E Saint Charles Street Saturday.
The authorities responded to the deadly crash in the 700 block area and found Luis Noriega seriously injured.
Officers said the victim was hit by a car that left the scene.
Immediately, Noriega was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Two days later, Alejandro Correa Torres, 57, the alleged driver of the car that struck Noriega, turned himself into authorities.
He is charged with collision involving death, a second-degree felony. He was arraigned and was released on a bond of $50,000
