3 Killed in Norwalk Multi-Vehicle Collision
Norwalk, CA (July 17, 2023) – On Sunday, Luis Marroquin, Clarence Hill, and Hector Rivero were arrested in a fatal DUI collision on Interstate 5.
It was about 2:20 a.m. when a 2017 Honda, driven by Clarence Hill, was northbound on the freeway. The vehicle crashed into a sound barrier south of Florence Avenue. The Honda then became disabled in the roadway.
Oscar Sosa, driving Hadley’s tow truck, stopped behind the disabled Honda to assist.
Suddenly, a 2011 Kia driven by Hector Rivero, rear-ended the tow truck at an unknown rate of speed. Rivero’s 32-year-old female passenger died in the accident.
Moreover, a 2016 Toyota driven by Luis Marroquin rear-ended the tow truck at an unknown rate of speed, killing its two unidentified male passengers.
The rescuers rushed Rivero and Marroquin to Saint Francis Medical Center for injuries sustained in the accident. Later, the authorities later arrested both of them on charges of felony DUI.
Hill, the Honda driver was also arrested at the scene and charged with misdemeanor DUI.
Meanwhile, the authorities did not provide further information on Oscar Sosa. Also, the authorities withheld the identities of the three deceased pending notification of kin.
