GLENN COUNTY, CA (December 20, 2023) – Sunday, a brutal pedestrian crash on Interstate 5 near County Road 7 involved Luis Manilla Franco.

The incident happened at about 1:30 a.m. when 32-year-old Manilla Franco from Phenix drove a black Honda, north on Interstate 5 near County Road 7.

According to reports, a 39-year-old male pedestrian from Walnut Creek walked along the side of the freeway, also going north.

Then, the driver struck the pedestrian.

When officers arrived, they declared the victim dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the Honda driver suffered no injuries in the crash.

Furthermore, the authorities ruled out drunk driving as a factor in the crash.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
