53-Year-Old Newark Man Identified as Bicyclist Fatally Injured in Collision near Milani Avenue
NEWARK, CA (November 1, 2018) – A man was killed Thursday evening following a bicycle accident near Milani Avenue. The deceased victim was later identified as 53-year-old Luis Hernandez, a resident of Newark.
As per reports, a bicycle collided with a vehicle on Cedar Boulevard, shortly after 9:20 PM. Events that led up to the fatal crash were not immediately available.
Hernandez suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Meanwhile, the unidentified driver remained at the crash site and cooperated with investigators.
Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as possible contributing factors in the collision. It was also noted that the victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
