3 Hospitalized in Fallbrook Auto Accident on Winter Haven Road
FALLBROOK, CA (July 19, 2022) – Sunday morning, authorities arrested Luis Fernando Thomas after a DUI crash on Winter Haven Road.
According to CHP Officer Hunter Gerber, the incident happened at around 2:40 a.m. Moreover, it occurred at the 1300 block of Winter Haven Road.
Reports revealed that an eastbound grey Toyota Tacoma veered off the roadway and struck a house.
Moreover, responders transported the Toyota driver, 19-year-old Luis Fernando Thomas, and his 20-year-old passenger to Palomar Medical Center with major life-threatening injuries. Then, paramedics transported two occupants of the house, ages 9 and 5, both suffered minor injuries to Rady Children’s Hospital for treatment.
Furthermore, officers believed that drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident. Authorities later arrested Luis Fernando Thomas on suspicion of DUI.
Meanwhile, the incident remained under investigation.
