MERCED, CA (August 25, 2022) – Saturday night, authorities arrested Luis Enrique Martinez Lorenzo after a DUI crash on Highway 99.
According to reports, the crash occurred at around 11:25 p.m. on Highway 99 near Childs Avenue.
Officers revealed that 22-year-old Luis Enrique Martinez Lorenzo of Merced drove a 2006 Honda Accord north in the No. 1 lane.
However, he made an unsafe lane change while attempting to enter the No. 2 lane.
As a result, the vehicle crashed and overturned. Meanwhile, the 25-year-old male right front passenger in the vehicle sustained major injuries. Then, responders took him to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
