Luciano Becerra Garcia of Fresno Killed in Bicycle Crash on Highway 41 [Fresno, CA]

Fresno, CA (September 14, 2024) – 41-year-old Luciano Becerra Garcia of Fresno was killed in a bicycle crash on Highway 41 Friday morning.

It was about 4:45 a.m. when the deadly crash happened north of Shields Avenue.

Troopers said Luciano Becerra Garcia was riding a bicycle south in the northbound first lane of the freeway.

At the same time, a 19-year-old man in a Chevrolet Impala was traveling north on the same lane.

The Chevrolet driver did not see Garcia in time and the front of his vehicle struck him. Garcia was thrown and blocked two lanes of traffic. 

Immediately, Garcia was taken to an area hospital with critical injuries. However, despite life-saving efforts was declared dead.

The Chevrolet driver remained at the crash scene.

CHP is investigating if alcohol or drugs were a factor in this fatal crash.
