CHP Officer Injured in Pedestrian Crash at Lomo Crossing
LIVE OAK, CA (October 19, 2019) – Police arrested Lucas Nelson after a suspected DUI accident on Highway 99 on early Saturday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 1:11 AM near the Lomo Crossing.
Based on a report, Nelson’s gray SUV struck a CHP officer responding to a broken railroad crossing sign on the highway. However, the initial assessment showed that the suspect drove fast and did not stop at the crossing.
Paramedics responded to the scene. As a result, they transported the victim to the hospital with major injuries.
Police first took Nelson to the hospital for treatment before arresting him on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
