Lourdes Santos and Sophia Barrios Injured after Fatal DUI Crash on 90th Street and Avenue Q [Palmdale, CA]

1 Killed and 3 Injured in Palmdale Auto Accident on 90th Street

 
PALMDALE, CA (July 20, 2020) – Friday night, Lourdes Santos and Sophia Barrios suffered injuries in a fatal DUI crash on 90th Street.
 
According to reports, the fatal crash happened at 9:25 p.m. on 90th Street East and south of Avenue Q. A preliminary investigation determined that 20-year-old Jaime Gonzalez drove south on 90th Street at an unknown speed. As he approached Pablo Barrios driving a northbound vehicle, Gonzalez steered into the northbound lane and crashed head-on with Pablo Barrios.
 
As a result, 26-year-old Pablo Barrios of Los Angeles sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, responders transported Gonzalez to a hospital with major injuries. Also, responders transported two seriously injured passengers from Barrios’ vehicle, 26-year-old Lourdes Santos and 4-year-old Sophia Barrios.
 
“Tragically, another life was lost here in the Antelope Valley,” Officer E. Davis of the California Highway Patrol said. “This collision is the 20th person killed so far this year in Antelope Valley CHP jurisdiction.
 
“You can help us prevent these senseless deaths by obeying all traffic signs and signals, obeying the speed limit, not driving or walking impaired, and always wearing your seatbelt.”
