Louis Hernandez Jr. Dead in Montecito Auto Accident on Highway 101 and Olive Mill Road

MONTECITO, CA (August 14, 2023) – Sunday morning, a brutal 2-vehicle crash on Highway 101 and Olive Mill Road killed Louis Hernandez Jr., 77.

The incident happened just about 3:10 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Highway 101, just north of the Olive Mill Road offramp.

After the crash, an SUV overturned and fell down an embankment. Then, one person sustained major injuries and required extrication from the vehicle. Also, the impact ejected another person, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Moreover, three other people sustained minor injuries.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash. It is known that the decedent was a Santa Paula resident.
