Ashley Marie Oliver Arrested in Fatal DUI Head-On Crash in Los Gatos
LOS GATOS, CA (May 11, 2019) – A male teen was killed following a DUI head-on crash on Highway 17 early Saturday morning.
Authorities responded to the collision around 2:10 a.m. A Chrysler minivan was traveling north on the southbound lanes, when it allegedly struck a Toyota Corolla head-on.
The Corolla had five occupants between the ages of 16 and 17 inside the vehicle at the time.
A 16-year-old male from Fremont who was sitting in the backseat was killed due to the impact of the accident. His name has not yet been released pending family notification. Three others were taken to a nearby hospital with major injuries. One occupant only suffered minor injuries.
Furthermore, the driver of the minivan, a 28-year-old Ashley Marie Oliver of San Jose, was treated for minor injuries. She was later arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter. She is booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.
All southbound lanes of Highway 17 were closed until around 5:15 a.m., but have since reopened.
Investigation of this fatal crash is still currently ongoing.
