Falling Tree Causes Fatal Crash on Highway 17 in Los Gatos
LOS GATOS, CA (February 14, 2019) – An 84-year-old man was killed when a tree fell on his car Thursday afternoon in Santa Cruz County.
The crash happened around 3:38p.m. on Highway 17 at Summit Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Cadillac Escalade was heading northbound on Highway 17, just South of Summit Road when the tree toppled over the car.
The driver of the car was knocked unconscious and hit several other vehicles. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity was not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
