Fatal and Major-Injury Crashes on Highway 17 in Los Gatos

 
LOS GATOS, CA (February 14, 2019) – One person was killed and two others were badly injured following two separate crashes Thursday afternoon on Highway 17 near Redwood Estates.
 
The initial crash was reported at 2:36 p.m. involving a gray Toyota Highlander that had overturned onto its roof. The driver was found unconscious inside the car and was rushed to a hospital with major injuries.
 
The second incident happened an hour later involving a tree that fell into a car. The impact knocked the driver unconscious, causing his vehicle to crash into multiple vehicles. The driver suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition. His male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The collisions blocked all northbound lanes of Highway 17.
 
No identifying information is being released at this time. Further investigation of these incidents is underway.
