Power Lines Down after Fatal Crash on Highway 152 in Los Banos
LOS BANOS, CA (February 13, 2019) – A man was killed in a traffic accident Wednesday before noon in Los Banos, authorities said.
The fatal crash happened around 11:57 a.m. on Highway 152 at Delta Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2005 Dodge Dakota was heading westbound on Highway 152 when for unknown reasons, it drove off the northbound side and collided with a power pole before overturning into a small drainage ditch.
Officers arrived and found the male driver still inside the vehicle and power lines were down.
The man, a 70-year-old Los Banos resident and the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released pending notification of his family members.
The power lines were de-energized by PG&E.
Authorities said neither alcohol, drugs or weather conditions appear to have been a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
