One Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident on Fourth Street and W Washington Blvd
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 4, 2018) – Police continue to search for the hit-and-run driver that struck and dragged a man for blocks near the intersection of 4th Street and West Washington Boulevard, just north of the 10 Freeway.
On Sunday night around 11:30 PM in the Arlington Heights neighborhood of Central LA, a man was standing outside of his car with the door open, looking for something in the front seat when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
There were two women sitting inside of the car when the man was hit; they described the suspect vehicle as a gray sedan. Surveillance videos from a local business identified the car as a gray Nissan Versa.
The victim was hooked onto the front wheel of the car and was dragged for about a quarter of a mile south on 3rd Avenue, east onto 20th Street, then southbound onto 2nd Avenue where the vehicle slowed down at a dead-end. He was dislodged from the wheel well when the car turned to make a U-turn and dragged himself to a nearby house for help.
The man miraculously didn’t suffer life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of extreme road rash and facial injuries, according to Los Angeles Department Officer Mike Tirelli. Police officials continue to search for the hit-and-run driver. Reports say that the gray Nissan should have passenger-side damage from the impact of the accident.
