Fatal Pedestrian Crash on 101-110 Freeway Interchange
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 22, 2019) – A man was killed after being struck by a car Friday evening on the transition road in Los Angeles.
The fatal crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on the connector between the southbound 101 Freeway and the southbound 110 Freeway.
Witnesses first reported seeing the man wearing a red hoodie and was standing in the center divider. Additional callers reported the man was seen running in traffic lanes, CHP officials said.
Seconds later, it was reported the man had been struck by a Nissan Altima.
Paramedics immediately responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.
The Nissan reportedly exited the freeway and stopped nearby, officials said.
Officials issued a Sig Alert for about two hours as they conducted their investigation.
